Calcined Products
Calix has proven that its Catalytic Flash Calciner (CFC) technology can deliver innovation to the age-old process of calcination, and have the ability to deliver a range of products that have eluded traditional operators of calcination plant.
The commissioning of its CFC850 plant in Bacchus Marsh (Victoria) has demonstrated the continuous operation of the CFC technology. This plant continues to exercise and provide data and information relating to the overall CFC process, as well as providing a range of calcined products that exhibit technical attributes not generally available in the marketplace. Applications development testing in a number of target market sectors has indicated that the CFC850 calcined products exhibit superior performance to similar products available on the market.
Calix is finalising the Engineering Design on a larger scale CFC15000 Calciner for the Bacchus Marsh site, and the CFC15000 is designed to deliver fully calcined (high value) product at @ 2 tonnes per hour and partially calcined (lower value) product at @ 4 tonnes per hour on a continuous 24/7 basis.
The commissioning of the CFC15000 will significantly enhance the volume of saleable calcined product from the Bacchus Marsh site.
Calix considers that its Calciner business is based on three products:-
- Calcined Products
- Calciner Systems Sales
- Provision of Operational Calciner Business
TYPES OF CALCINED PRODUCTS
The CFC technology has the proven ability to produce superior calcined products while simultaneously capturing the released CO2 from the process.
The CFC technology has the ability to calcine (remove CO2 from) the following range of carbonate minerals:-
- Magnesite;
- Dolomite;
- Limestone
The CFC technology also has the ability to calcine and/or de-hydrate (remove excess water from) the following range of minerals:-
- Kaolin
- Bauxite
- Gypsum
- Lignite
And in the process deliver an activated product for use in various construction, industrial and manufacturing processes.
Calix continues to develop CFC operational parameters to allow the technology to process (and add value to) other minerals.
