MARK SCEATS PHD, BSC (HONS), FTSE, FRACI, COMP IEAUST Mark is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, and a Companion of the Institute of Engineers Australia. He graduated from the University of Queensland as a physical chemist with the degrees of BSc (Hons 1st Class) and a PhD, and was awarded the University Medal. He was a research associate at the James Franck Institute at the University of Chicago, and assistant professor of the University of Rochester NY, where he was awarded the Alfred P Sloan Fellowship for his research. He returned to Australia to the University of Sydney, where he was a reader in the School of Chemistry. He co-founded the Optical Fibre Technology Centre at the University of Sydney, and was the founding CEO of the Australian Photonics Cooperative Research Centre, and was appointed Adjunct Professor. He led the commercialisation of the intellectual property from the CRC, which led to the formation of 10 spin-off companies. Mark was the founder and later chief technology officer of Redfern Photonics, which raised over $250 million of private equity into these companies, the majority of which are operating today. He is an inventor of some 25 patented inventions and has published over 180 academic papers. PETER TIRZINS B Eng (Elec) Peter is an electrical engineer who has, over the last 30 years, been involved in the successful development, management and implementation of complex leading edge and large scale commercial projects both in Australia and the United States. Peter has brought significant levels of systems engineering to the projects in which he has been involved to develop solutions, utilising the latest product innovations, and integrating those solutions with existing plants and technologies. NICHOLAS STILLMAN Nicholas is a Management Accountant who has gained solid commercial experience with large and complex commercial organisations, including trading houses, in Melbourne, Sydney and London. Nicholas's skills and experience includes competencies in the following areas:
ROD HENDRICKS Mechanical Design (RMIT) Rod has a unique background with more than 20 years of national and international experience in the industrial, energy and environmental protection arena. He is a pragmatic environmentalist who has opted to use his mechanical and electrical engineering training to provide real solutions to real environmental problems. Rod's environmental area of expertise includes air pollution control or elimination for industrial and manufacturing processes. ELIZABETH POFF Elizabeth is the company secretary and Operations Manager with Ken Farrow Consulting. Elizabeth has more than fifteen years experience as an Operations Manager, including five years as Chief Operating Officer with the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA). Elizabeth has worked predominantly with associations, ranging from large commercially focused organisations such as AFMA, to smaller, memeber focussed associations such as Australian Financial Operations Association (AFOA). Elizabeth has a strong focus on the establishment of processes and systems that can be maintained by internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing value and growth of the business they are working within. |
